Module Sun risk at work
The dangers linked to sun exposure in the workplace represent a real challenge for public health: in Europe, around 14.5 million workers are exposed to high levels of solar radiation for at least 75 % of their working hours (1). It is estimated that 10 % of the active population are facing a excessive risk exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays in the context of their professional duties (2).
In this sun-related skin cancer prevention module, we focus on the identification of risk factors and the adoption of good daily practices, particularly in the professional context.

The “My Skin and the Sun” prevention program allows employees to understand the importance of prevention and protection against ultraviolet radiation:
- Definition of skin cancers and key figures
- Understand the main endogenous and exogenous risk factors in your personal and professional life
- Know the difference between UVA, UVB and UVC
- How to choose the sunscreen adapted to my phototype
- Prevention tools adapted to your environment
- Skin cancer detection: ABCDE rules, skin self-monitoring
- Practical advice to apply on a daily basis
